New Planning for Hazards Guidebook from Colorado
Land use planning is a valuable part of the Cohesive Strategy equation when it comes to reducing risks in and around communities. In Colorado, the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Division of Local Government released a new Planning for Hazards: Land Use Solutions for Colorado guidebook and website designed to help Colorado communities prepare for natural disasters through increased hazard mitigation and resilience planning. The guidebook highlights planning tools, including those specifically used to address wildfire. Although many of the examples are Colorado-specific, the concepts are transferable to other communities. See the full guide here.
