Check out January's Field Guide from the Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network! Just released, this publication is filled with information about each of the Networks across the nation.
The Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network is a tremendous demonstration of the Cohesive Strategy in action. As part of a cooperative agreement, The Nature Conservancy, USDA Forest Service and agencies of the Department of the Interior (Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife Service, National Park Service) support the FAC Learning Network and its work to encourage the development and sharing of best practices and innovations in order to accelerate the adoption of fire adapted community concepts nationwide. The Network supports hub organizations (shown above) and pilot communities that have committed to implementing, assessing and sharing the work that they are doing to increase their communities' resilience to wildfire.
